I am in Africa!

Hello everyone I have finally made it to Ghana. I have actually been here for a bout a week but I just now got time to create a blog. No real news has happened yet I am just going through the beginning of training trying to figure out this whole Peace Corps thing. It has been pretty cool so far but has felt like I am more on vacation or summer camp than actually here to work which is fine for now. Right now I am visiting a current Peace Corps volunteer and seeing how he lives and what his workand life is like. I do not think his is a typical site though because he has really nice house and electricity and he lives in the mountains so it is about 10 degrees cooler where he lives than in Accra or most other parts of the country. Either way I am enjoying myself. All of the People in the Peace Corps are great and I have enjoyed most of them. The people of Ghana are absolutely incredible they are kind and friendly and always willing to help you. I have felt very comfortable the whole time I have been here. Even if they do call you Obruni or White man all the time. It is not meant as an insult. I am starting to get anxious about finding out where I will be living but I should find that out within the next week. So far I have a really good feeling about Ghana. It is strange from the instant the plane took off from NYC last Wedensday I suddenly felt this overwhelming feeling of calm like this is where I was supposed to be going and what I am supposed to be doing. I cannot explain it but it just felt like the right thing to be doing. I hope that my intuition is correct and so far it has been. I do not know when the next time I will be able to post is but I will try and keep you all informed if anything interesting happens.
